Geosinergia will participate as a sponsor at the 9th ISRM Regional Latin American Symposium, organized by the International Society for Rock Mechanics, which will be held in Asunción, Paraguay, from October 16 to 19, 2022.

The main theme of LARMS 2022 is “Rock Mechanics Challenges in Sustainable Infrastructure Development.”

A unique opportunity to meet international professionals from around the world and exchange new ideas, exploring the future path in the fields of rock mechanics, rock engineering, and geological engineering.

The South American Rock Mechanics Symposium will host the global conversation surrounding sustainable development. It aims to address the major challenges arising from massive infrastructure needs, particularly in developing countries. These include:

• Rock mass characterization
• Geophysics applied to rock engineering
• Monitoring techniques
• Numerical methods and modeling in rock mechanics
• Environmental and safety issues in rock engineering and mining
• Soft rock engineering and case studies
• Tunnels and deep rock excavations
• Rock mechanics for energy infrastructure
• Petroleum and deep reservoir engineering
• Rock engineering case studies (interdisciplinary case studies are especially encouraged)

There will be two days of courses and workshops, along with industrial exhibitions and post-conference technical tours. There will also be engaging programs for young researchers, professionals, and students, including a student night, poster and paper competitions, and more.
